Church of St Cawrda
Jordanston, Pembrokeshire
Diocese: Tyddewi/St Davids
OS Grid Ref.: SM91873252
Lat/Lng: 51.9521236948,-5.03015980503
Church dedicated to Cawrda, but given as Cwrda in the eighteenth century and on the six-inch Ordnance Survey map.
The dedication seems to have been assumed from the Welsh form of the English place-name, Tre-Wrdan. In the absence of a history of the name in a Welsh llan form, this assumption is doubtful. In the absence of any other early sources for the dedication of the church, its original patron remains unknown.More information
