Church of St Mary
Llanfaredd, Radnorshire
Diocese: Abertawe ac Aberhonddu/Swansea and Brecon (Former diocese: Tyddewi/St Davids)
OS Grid Ref.: SO06945074
Lat/Lng: 52.1470848154, -3.36141617242
The meaning of the [it:Maredd] element of the place-name is unclear. It could be a river name, or a personal name, perhaps the saint Mariaith that Lewis Glyn Cothi mentions in a fifteenth-century cywydd. It is possible that the dedication to Mary has arisen due to the similarity of the names.
