Place-name whose hamlet included a chapel dedicated to Mary, attested in its Welsh form from the seventeenth until the nineteenth century. A Latin form, dated 1535, is recorded in the possessions of nearby Whitland Abbey. The area now forms the southern part of Whitland, or Trevaughan.
