Diocese: Tyddewi/St Davids
OS Grid Ref.: SM76802753
Lat/Lng: 51.9014876241,-5.24585731831
Capel y Gwrhyd, or Gorid Chapel, was perhaps extant in the eighteenth century, and now only survives as barely discernable earthworks. The 'Gwrhyd' (fathom) element of the place-name is explained by Browne Willis as relating to a former image of David, with arms outstretched. The image is now lost, and could perhaps have been a representation of Christ on the cross.
