There is no evidence for the Welsh forms of the place-name incorporating the Welsh Ffraid or Bride, in contrast with Llansanffraid-ar-Elái (St Bride's-super-Ely) and Llansanffraid-ar-Ogwr (St Bride's Minor), although the Welsh forms of the latter are late and not well attested.
