Church of St Tegfan

Llandegfan, Anglesey

Diocese: Bangor/Bangor

OS Grid Ref.: SH56397438
Lat/Lng: 53.2469531457,-4.1537467478

Medieval church dedicated to Tegfan, although Browne Willis gives the dedication as Tydecho. A separate, now lost, chapel at an unknown location nearby was dedicated to Tydecho, according to A.W. Wade Evans. Is it possible that the two names originally referred to the same saint, with Tydecho a compound of Tegfan, rather than being rival dedications? Capel Tydecho is listed in the National Monuments Record, but without any details or exact location in the outskirts of Beaumaris.
