Medieval church dedicated to Peter, given to Battle Abbey before 1107⁠–24. The short-lived Benedictine house, located nearby, was dissolved in c. 1125 and succeeded by a house of Augustinian Canons founded by Bishop Bernard of St Davids and dedicated to John the Evangelist and Theulac (Teulyddog).
