Church now dedicated to Twynnell, although the dedication has appeared in various forms, and has been shown on maps as dedicated to Deiniol.

The dedication has been given in forms such as Winnel, Winocus, Twynelles, Gwinio and Gwynog. The name of the church is given as Deiniol on the first edition six-inch OS map, apparently derived from Dwynnell, which is not attested historically.
