Church of St Padarn
Llanberis, Caernarfonshire
Diocese: Bangor/Bangor
OS Grid Ref.: SH57875998
Lat/Lng: 53.1180011416,-4.12517566765
The dedication to Padarn at this church in Llanberis, built on a new site in 1884–5, appears to supplant Peris, who is the patron of the church nearby at Nant Peris. The choice of Padarn probably draws on the adjacent place-name, Dolbadarn, first recorded early in the fourteenth century. But it is doubtful that the Padarn of that name is the same saint culted further south in medieval Wales.
